Install MFL Fantasy as an App

iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows — no App Store needed

MFL Fantasy works in any web browser, but you can also install it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) so it lives on your home screen, opens like a real app, and runs full-screen with no browser chrome. The install takes less than 30 seconds and works on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, and Windows. No App Store, no Google Play, no download.

Why install as a PWA? Faster launches from your home screen, full-screen experience with no Safari/Chrome address bar, push-notification support on Android, and the app icon sits alongside your native apps. Most importantly, it stays up to date automatically — no manual app updates, no waiting for store approval, no version mismatches.

Install on iPhone & iPad

Apple does not allow third-party PWA install prompts the way Android does, so the steps are manual but quick. You need to use Safari — Chrome on iOS cannot install PWAs because of Apple's restrictions.

Step 1: Open in Safari

Open Safari and go to mflfantasyfootball.com. If you are currently reading this in a different browser (like Chrome or Firefox on iPhone), copy the link and paste it into Safari. The install option only appears in Safari.

Step 2: Tap the Share Button

At the bottom of the Safari screen, you will see a row of icons. The Share button is the square with an upward-pointing arrow — it is usually in the middle of the bottom toolbar. Tap it.

Step 3: Scroll Down and Tap "Add to Home Screen"

The share sheet has two rows. The first row is sharing options (Messages, Mail, etc.) — ignore those. Scroll down to the second row of options and find "Add to Home Screen." It has an icon that looks like a small square with a plus sign. Tap it.

Step 4: Confirm the Name and Add

iOS will show a preview of the home screen icon and let you edit the name. The default is "MFL Fantasy" — leave it or change it to whatever you want. Tap "Add" in the top right corner.

Step 5: Launch From Your Home Screen

The MFL Fantasy icon now lives on your home screen, just like a native app. Tap it to open. It launches full-screen with no Safari controls, the splash screen shows the MFL logo, and you can use it exactly like any other iOS app.

Heads up: On iOS, PWAs do not support push notifications until you grant explicit permission inside the app. The first time you use a feature that benefits from notifications (like trade alerts), iOS will ask if you want to allow them.

Install on Android

Android handles PWA installs natively — Chrome usually shows an install prompt automatically the first time you visit. The full flow:

Step 1: Open in Chrome

Open Chrome on your Android device and go to mflfantasyfootball.com. Other Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Samsung Internet) also support PWA installs.

Step 2: Look for the Install Prompt

After a few seconds of browsing, Chrome will typically show a small banner near the top or bottom of the screen that says "Install MFL Fantasy" or "Add to Home screen." If you see it, tap "Install" and you are done.

Step 3: Manual Install (if no prompt appears)

If the auto-prompt does not show:

Step 4: Launch from your Home Screen or App Drawer

On Android, the installed PWA shows up in both your home screen and your app drawer alongside native apps. Tap to launch. It runs full-screen, supports back-gesture navigation, and integrates with Android's recent-apps switcher.

Install on Desktop (Mac, Windows, Chromebook, Linux)

Desktop browsers also support PWA installs and the result is a standalone app window without browser chrome.

Chrome, Edge, Brave (Windows, Mac, Linux, ChromeOS)

Open the site, look for a small install icon in the address bar (usually a monitor with a downward arrow). Click it, confirm. The app opens in its own window, gets added to your dock or taskbar, and can be pinned just like any other application.

Safari on Mac

Open the site in Safari. From the menu bar, go to File → Add to Dock. Confirm. The app appears in your Dock with the MFL icon and launches in a standalone window.

Why You Might Prefer the PWA

It Looks and Feels Like a Real App

No address bar, no browser tabs, no Safari toolbar eating up screen space. Just MFL Fantasy filling the screen the way native apps do.

Faster Launches

Installed PWAs cache their core code locally. Cold-start times are noticeably faster than opening the site in a browser tab.

Auto-Updates

Unlike App Store apps, there is no "Update Available" notification. When we ship a new version of MFL Fantasy, your installed PWA picks it up the next time you open it. Always current, no friction.

Works Across Devices

Install on your phone, your tablet, and your desktop. All three stay synced because they all hit the same cloud backend. Set a lineup from your laptop, check scores from your phone — same account, same data, same state.

Uninstalling

If you ever want to remove the PWA, treat it exactly like a normal app:

Your account and data stay intact. You can reinstall anytime.

Troubleshooting

"Add to Home Screen" is missing on iPhone. Make sure you are using Safari, not Chrome or Firefox. Apple restricts PWA installs to Safari only on iOS.

The install prompt never appeared on Android. Try the manual install path — menu → "Install app." Some Android browsers suppress the auto-prompt under certain network conditions.

Icon looks wrong or low-resolution. Delete the icon, clear your browser cache, and re-install. The first install sometimes uses a placeholder icon.

App opens in a browser tab instead of full-screen. You probably bookmarked the page instead of installing it. Use the actual "Add to Home Screen" or "Install app" option, not "Add Bookmark."
